Tried this spruce sprout & sugar recipe with my supervisor the other day, and honestly? Kinda magical. 🌲💚

We picked the baby spruce tips fresh, rolled them in sugar & packed them into a jar.. & now it’s slowly turning into this sweet, tangy syrup that’s supposed to be great for sore throats and colds.

I think it’s so cool how much edible and medicinal stuff is just growing around us!! Like.. it’s literally everywhere & most of the time we don’t even realize it. I’m genuinely GRATEFUL I get to learn this kind of thing. Isabelle (my supervisor) is showing me so much, and it’s not just talk – she actually takes the time to go out, explore, make stuff & explain things. Thankful. 💛

It’s such a hands-on way to learn and I’m loving it.. feeling lucky to be here and excited for whatever we’re experimenting with next. ☀️
